As the synthetic alternative to natural grass, Mirage Waterless Grass™ is ideal for every residential or commercial lawn application. To ensure a realistic appearance and feel, Mirage Waterless Grass™ is designed with the most natural color shades of green possible. A special backing offers a natural texture that is ideal for people and pets alike.

Our soft synthetic grass fibers stand up naturally, but do require a little sand or rubber infill to help increase stability at the root of the fibers and assist in weighing down the turf so it doesn’t move or wrinkle. This special in-fill process provides a resilient, natural feel. With basic care and the application of a our UV-enhancement treatment by an authorized dealer, Mirage Waterless Grass™ can last up to 20 years in most environments.

Product Installation

Professional sod installations can often cost up to $1-2 per square foot (more with the cost of underground sprinklers), and this price tag continues growing as mowing, watering, weeding, thatching, fertilizing, over-seeding and yard equipment are needed. By installing Mirage Waterless Grass™ – which is virtually maintenance-free – you’ll save money year after year.

Several years of research and development have resulted in an efficient and proprietary installation process for Mirage Waterless Grass™.

We’ve spent years developing and testing Mirage Waterless Grass™ to achieve the most realistic-looking synthetic turf on the market. Don’t accept an imitation!

General Overview of the Synthetic Lawn Grass Installation Process:
(Please Note: Different environments can require different sub-base installation procedures.)

  1. Mark off the area(s) where you are installing the Mirage Waterless Grass™ lawn.
  2. Remove sod.
  3. Cap sprinklers and turn off valves.
  4. Compact existing ground to “firm it up fully.”
  5. Apply weed/grass killer and place a weed barrier mesh down.
  6. Create a 1″-3 sub-base.
  7. Spread and then compact the sub-base material.
  8. Apply top-based sand.
  9. Check surface for depressions. Any depression areas 1/8″-1/4″ or deeper should be filled and re-leveled. Although the turf also drains vertically through the manufactured drainage holes, it is still advisable to give the sub-base a slight slope to avoid any pooling (slope away from buildings).
  10. Roll out turf. Position the turf accurately.
  11. Make sure the turf is in the proper position; then cut off any excess material so the entire piece is easier to work with.
  12. Create seams. The seams are simply glued together with our recommended outdoor seam tape glue and special seaming material.
  13. Apply the infill using a standard seed drop spreader. This helps weigh the turf down, avoid turf wrinkling and stabilize the fibers. Most dealers use sand or rubber infill.
  14. Create optional edging. Depending on your yard, you may want to install some type of edging material around the edges. Concrete curbing, natural stone, rock borders and metal or plastic edging (similar to what is used around flower beds) are popular.
  15. Step back and enjoy the beauty of the new lawn.
